Dancing Day

Today was one of those wonderful days that was just great for no special reason. Eli crept into my room bright and early this morning, and though I wasn't ready to be up yet, his and Owen's giggles got me going. After breakfast, we danced the morning away to some Fisher Price baby dance music (think nursery rhymes gone techno) and Raffi's Banana Phone. I actually wore Owen in a wrap, which I haven't done much since the newborn days. He LOVED all the dancing in it... he even went to sleep. After I wore myself out, we slow danced with the whales to Orca Suite (piano music with whale sounds). Lunch went smoothly, then we played outside! It was cool enough for a light jacket, but otherwise sunny and cheerful. Eli loves his little sand table that I got for free off the side of the road, and throwing rocks into a bowl of water. Then, naps and quiet time. Dinner was one of Eli's favorites - French Toast! It's always a boost to see him actually enjoy a meal. We read some books, then all three of us hopped in a warm bath together. Owen went to sleep at 630 so I got to enjoy some quiet one on one getting Eli ready for bed - then Brad got home! He made it home in time to say goodnight to Eli, who was very pleased. He kept saying "Daddy come home" and giving Brad kisses. Now Owen's back up and being fussy, but Brad's got him. Just an ordinary lovely day!

And by request of my dad, I got some pictures from our dancefest. I figured out the timer function on my camera - nevermind that my hair is not done and I don't have makeup on. It's just honesty... that's how I look everyday unless I have some big plans outside the house, ha!

And you know I can't help myself. I take a lot of pictures because looking at them reminds me how much I love my kids - and Brad gets to see what we do all day. Here are the boys doing their thing.

Hey Jeanine, it was fun to surf through your blog. I'm glad it's warming up for you. Try and get some sleep!

Jeanine, those are some cute pictures! Funny enough, the boys and I had a little dance party this morning as well, but the only song Derek wanted to dance to over and over was "Splish, Splash I was taking a bath..." It is fun to hear their little giggles and see their cool dance moves! You've got adorable boys!
